Dale's Valentine Card and Candy 2012

Valentine's Day 2012
The following is from Dale's blog:
"It’s been interesting reading in these blogs about the range of opinions about Valentine’s Day. Me, I tend to fall on the roll-my-eyes-but-go-along-anyway end of the spectrum. It’s fine, but certainly not in my top 5 holidays. My two-hour sweat-a-thon spin class on Saturday is that instructor’s annual anti-Valentine’s Day Ride for which she plays nothing but break-up songs (and my God, are there a lot of them! What would the music industry do without love-gone-wrong songs?) I love that ride. The sentiment is perfect for me."
"So, that said, I get up this morning and I find this next to the coffee maker."
"And damned if I didn’t feel my eyes well up just a wee bit. Joe, a much more sentimental guy than I, always more thoughtful than I, put them next to the coffeemaker before bed last night, knowing I’d be up first and would find them there. So I guess that’s what really gives days like this meaning. Being thoughtful. Caring enough to plan a little surprise. Small, unexpected gestures. You don’t even have to be married/partnered/dating to do these things for people. It can be for a family member or a friend or even a co-worker. This felt nice. And I realize I have a lot to learn about thoughtfulness."
