This Dove chocolate is a lot bigger than it looks. One of my students gave it to me for Valentine's day and I'm guessing it's 4.5 x 4.5. No, I did NOT eat the whole thing. What I did eat though, was very good. Thanks to Leo.

Valentine's Day Full Moon 2014
Yep, the moon was full on Valentine's Day yesterday at about 5:54 p.m. The orb pictured above is actually from a photo of the moon I took on my iPhone as it appeared last evening over Minneapolis.

Valentine's Day 2014 with Dale
Dale and I had a pretty low key Valentine's Day. We stayed in and that was just fine considering what a tough week it has been and how exhausted we were. The past month has been so cold that I think the kids have been able to go out for recess maybe twice. All that pent up energy along with a full moon on Valentine's Day itself has made the week Ca-RAZY. Dale's had his own issues at work with the remodeling of their entire office. We each had a drink, made a pizza, watched The Hangover, and enjoyed the down time. My martini was very much appreciated. For dessert we had ice cream sandwiches and then dug into some of the chocolates the kids at school gave me.

Valentine's Day 2014 at School
The students finished decorating their bags by glueing a foam heart on them. All in all, the bags turned out pretty well. The kids had a GREAT time passing out their Valentine cards. Some were so excited it drove me crazy, but at the end of the day I could see how happy they were and that made it all worth it. Mom came to school to pass out cards and a treat to the kids and I think she was delighted by their excitement.

Valentine Bags
The kids made their Valentine bags today. Mom found these particular bags for me and she also found some foam hearts which I'll have the kids stick on their bags tomorrow.

The Big Day Is Coming Up
Talked to the kids at school today about our upcoming Valentine's Day party this Friday. They are SOOOO excited. I told them we'd be making Valentine's bags to hold their cards and I promised to give them a list of all the students in our class so they could make out their Valentines. I also told them they could bring a candy treat to pass out.

2014 - And So It Begins
Was at Target with Dale the other day and came upon these supplies for making Valentine's boxes. We used to make these as kids but with old shoe boxes and cut out the slot on top ourselves. I'd work on mine at home for a couple weeks and then bring it to school on the big day.
